It’s been too long since I’ve done anything like this, but it’s time to start again.
Rumor Has It is one of my favorite tracks by Adele (including video at bottom of the post!), and also the name of another new (but not entirely regular) feature here.Rumor Has It will list links to incredible posts/writers/bloggers that I’ve recently encountered. Sometimes I’ll simply list the blogger with links to his/her blog and Twitter handle. Other times I’ll direct you to particular posts. Rumor has it? These are the best of the best.
Please don’t feel badly if your name isn’t here. I swear there will be many more versions to come. Just know that there are so many of you out there that I look up to and admire that one post can’t possibly cover all of you.
So without further ado, in no random order:
&DidacticPirate (Seth). Read his post “Honesty,” where he comes out of the closet. Then go read “And Then We Had Hamburgers,” where he tells his mini-pirate (his daughter) that he is gay.
&Schmutzie (Elan). Read “I’m Speaking My Truth and Spreading the Word Because it Does Get Better.” THis post is about sooo much, but mainly identity, gender, integrity, and being true to herself. Pssst….Elan will be a speaker at BlogHer in August–woot!
&Tsonoda (Terri). Read “I Saw It In Their Eyes.” About unemployment, age discrimination, dusting yourself off and doing it all over again the next day.
&Jlweinberg (Jen). Read “Mama Llama Humping Papa.” Humorous, lovely, very fun writer and mom, the woman behind Kvetch Mom. Also loved her recent post about Passover with kids, ”Go Down Moses.” Real, honest, and pee-in-your-pants funny.
&AngelaAmman (Angela). Read “Molting,” only one of many delicious pieces of fiction she’s written. I met her at Blissdom ’12 and she was such fun.
&NaomiShulman (Naomi). Read “My Beautiful Cushy Tushy,” as featured in the New York Times. Beautiful piece about women and their bodies and how we should teach our young girls to love theirs. Self-acceptance. Lovely.
&JulieCGardner (Julie). Read today’s post because it speaks to me, and it’s all about books and reading, complete with a killer Stephen King quote at the end. And then you need to read “Today Call Me Gone.” All about being a woman, taking care of yourself, and what it really means/or doesn’t, and how to teach your kids about it. Gorgeous.
