Earth Day Giveaway

So, better late than never, right? That’s how I roll.

You all know plastic bags are my biggest pet peeve, and that I’ll totally stalk you in the grocery store parking lot. You know I bought a local cow with my friend Shelly Kramer. I talk to my kids often about being green and all we can do to protect our planet.

But today? I’m asking you to get off your lazy bums and SHOW me how you are going green. And reusable bags don’t count this time. I wanna see more. I wanna see compost. I wanna see drying racks. I wanna see LED lights, power strips, vegetable gardens, your trips to Whole Foods & the farmers’ market, etc.

I’ll be giving away a package of my favorite green goodies, including stuff from Envirosax, Beecology, Burt’s Bees, Mrs. Meyers, and Method. I want to surprise you, so I’m not going to list out the exact items that are included, but just know it’s all AWESOME (& has been hand-selected by yours truly).

    We compost, garden, use energy efficient bulbs, cloth diaper our twins, do crafts out of recycled goods around the house, and make our own house hold cleaners. We’re not perfect, but we try. I’ve blogged about this before, but you probably don’t want me to link up with an older post ;-)

      I LLLLLUUUUUURRRRRRVE my drying rack! It helps our clothes last longer. Also keeps house cooler in summer b/c I use the dryer so much less. ;-)

    We are a very green household too!! I recycle everything…right down to toilet paper rolls. It drives me nuts when I see people NOT recycling. It’s one of the easiest things to do!!! There is no excuse not to!

    Okay, Erin. This post made me really want to be more green (which I’m assuming was part of your point besides the giveaway?). I have great intentions but not always the best follow-through. Still, awareness is the first step. And I didn’t even know about Drying Racks. Really?

      I seriously LOVE my drying rack. I don’t dry everything on the drying rack, but I notice our clothes are lasting longer and fading less since I started using it. I still do sheets and towels in the dryer and anything I’m in a hurry for. But most of the girls’ things and mine especially go on the drying rack. Just google it, you can find tons. I think I got mine from the container store dot com or maybe it was bed bath & beyond? can’t remember. thanks for coming by!! loved your guest post at KLZ’s today!

    i don’t enter giveaways… just can’t follow rules.

    so is a nothing comment i guess… i do love all that stuff you do. i do most of it, but we don’t compost anymore… we used to…i make my husband do yard work all day on mother’s day while i sit around and drink mimosas… i think this year i’ll make him fashion me a compost bin.

    I’m going to put my photo of us going green on your fb page, not sure how else to show you! We of course do the natural cleaners, conserve water, I only do the grocery shopping twice a month to save gas and energy and any fresh veggies come home with Chris from work, we recycle and my entry photo is our veggie garden! We were finally able to plant a non container small apartment garden to help by growing our own fresh veggies. :]

    What a cool giveaway, Erin! I covet your drying rack. Mine is almost 23 years old. I got it when I went to college. Uh, wait, no, that makes me old. I got it when I was in First grade! Yah, first grade! One benefit of blazing hot summers is that my clothes on the drying rack are done in about 47 seconds! Thanks for giving me a topic for tomorrow.

    In response to your comment below, you will so fall in love with cloth diapers! After trying several types, we decided to go with the one size Fuzzibunz diapers. You won’t believe how soft they are, and lots of fun colors to choose from. Be sure you get a diaper sprayer for the toilet too, I waited a few months to order one and once I got it I was like, “Duh! What did I wait for?!”

    I do gardening and composting is our project within our house with the help of my kiddie. We put kitchen scrap in the compost heap and other household waste that can be use in composting.
